Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Travel Contract)

Austin, TX | Acute Care
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every other weekend required | No on-call required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 34-bed telemetry unit with a 5:1 patient ratio
- Perform cardiac rhythm interpretation and manage patients requiring continuous telemetry monitoring
- Manage respiratory needs including advanced airways and oxygen management
- Administer and monitor cardiac drips (non-titrated)
- Support procedures including stress tests, heart catheterizations, CABG, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and chest tubes
- Float as needed to Med Surg, Med Surg Telemetry, and ED holding areas
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Demonstrated cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
- Respiratory experience including advanced airways and oxygen management
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry or relevant RN experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS/ALS certification preferred
- Experience with GE Telemetry equipment, Pyxis, and Welch Allyn vital sign monitors
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR
- Strong team-oriented mindset and collaborative work style
