Job Title
Travel Registered Nurse – General Surgery / Telemetry (Night Shift)
Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed General Surgery unit, managing 6–7 patients per shift depending on day or night assignment
Perform and monitor a wide range of procedures including TPN, PCA, wound vacs, tube feeds (PEG tubes, Dobhoffs), NG tubes, colostomies, urostomies, and various surgical drains
Administer and monitor heparin drips and IV antibiotics; maintain telemetry monitoring for assigned patients
Care for post-operative patients across multiple surgical specialties including urology, bowel resections, cholecystectomies, appendectomies, mastectomies, thyroidectomies, hernia repairs, and more
Collaborate effectively with charge nurses, unit secretaries, providers, and CNA team members to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
Float to other medical-surgical areas as needed; fulfill weekend shift requirements (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
Minimum 2 years of RN experience
Demonstrated telemetry competency
Experience with urology and bowel patient populations
Current BLS certification
Proficiency with Cerner EMR and Baxter IV pumps
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior travel nursing experience in a general surgery or medical-surgical setting
Familiarity with a broad range of post-surgical drain management including biliary, JP, nephrostomy, and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
Positive, energetic, and fast-paced work style with strong communication skills across multidisciplinary teams
