    Job Title

    Travel Registered Nurse – General Surgery / Telemetry

    Location

    Asheville, North Carolina

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Projected Start: September 21, 2026

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed General Surgery unit, managing 6–7 patients per shift depending on assignment
    • Monitor and manage telemetry for assigned patients throughout the shift
    • Perform and oversee procedures including TPN, PCA management, wound vacs, tube feeds (PEG tubes, Dobhoffs), NG tubes, colostomies, urostomies, and drain management (biliary, JP, nephrostomy, urinary catheters, CBI)
    • Administer heparin drips and IV antibiotics; operate Baxter IV pumps and related equipment
    • Care for post-operative patients following procedures such as bowel resections, urology surgeries, nephrectomies, hysterectomies, mastectomies, thyroidectomies, hernia repairs, and cholecystectomies
    • Collaborate effectively with charge nurses, unit secretaries, providers, and CNA team members in a fast-paced environment; float to other med-surg areas as needed
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
    • Demonstrated telemetry competency
    • Experience with urology and bowel patient populations
    • Current BLS certification
    • Telemetry certification required
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with Cerner EMR
    • Familiarity with a broad range of general surgery procedures and post-operative care
    • Positive, energetic communicator who thrives in a high-acuity, fast-paced unit environment
