Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Trauma/Ortho/Med-Surg unit with a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
Operate and monitor unit equipment including IV pumps, wound vacs, SCD pumps, Kangaroo pumps, chest tubes, telemetry monitors, PCA pumps, BiPAPs, and epidurals
Perform wound vac changes, wound care, IV insertions, and insertion of indwelling Foley catheters
Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, LPNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries
Float to designated units (6A, 3A, 3 South, 4 South) as needed based on census
Adhere to unit dress code: ceil blue scrubs; no sweatshirts or crocs
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
ACLS certification required prior to submission
BLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg experience
Strong critical thinking and team collaboration skills
Preferred Experience / Skills
Demonstrated prioritization skills in a fast-paced inpatient environment
Strong time management skills with ability to manage a high patient load efficiently
Experience with telemetry monitoring
