Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in large, urban hospital License: Current RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; NIH, CPI preferred Must-Have: EPIC charting experience required Prior experience with drips Experience in a Level 1 trauma facility Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Telemetry specialty. The contract duration is 13 weeks with a night shift schedule. RNs must be prepared to float frequently to meet the staffing needs of the facility. This is a fast-paced specialty medical/surgical unit. Staff will care for specialty patients including stable heart and lung transplants and Ventricular Assist Devices. Ratios are approximately 1:5 days and 1:6 nights. Night ratios can occasionally increase to 1:7 depending on staffing needs. Travelers must have experience managing cardiac drips. Candidates must have charting experience using EPIC in the last two years. First-time travelers will not be accepted unless they have 2 years of experience in an academic medical center. Travelers may float within the scope to meet facility needs. The facility emphasizes a 100% nicotine-free environment. All travelers must work at least 2 of 3 major holidays during their contract. Weekend shifts are also part of the schedule. Requests for time off must be submitted with the application. The position focuses on growth in professional knowledge and expertise in cardiovascular patient care. Candidates will need recent experience in a Level 1 trauma facility. Candidates should have less than one year between permanent and travel positions.
