Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Cardiac Telemetry – Virginia

Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13-week assignment with 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period
Highlights:
- 24-bed medical cardiac step-down unit specializing in adult to geriatric cardiac conditions
- Patient ratio of 1:5 with diverse case mix including CHF, MI, dysrhythmias, chest pain, A-fib, syncope, and pre/post cardiac procedures
- EPIC EMR system (6+ months recent experience required within the past 12 months)
- Experience with cardiac drip management, telemetry interpretation, and post-cardiac catheterization care
- Care for patients requiring continuous cardiac medication infusion and those with pacemaker/ICD management needs
- Mixed unit also includes general medical-surgical patient population
Requirements:
- Active Virginia state RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Cardiac telemetry background within the past year
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- EPIC experience: 6+ months of recent experience within the past 12 months (must provide statement of experience)
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Flu vaccination required during flu season October 1 - March 31 (medical exemptions only)
- Smoke/nicotine-free facility compliance required
- Skills required: cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, cardiac drip management (no titration), non-invasive airway management, post-MI care, pre/post cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery care
