Position Summary Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 12-hour day shift contract on a 32-bed Medical Cardiac Telemetry unit (6 North) at Memorial Glenwood.

  • Shift: 12-Hour Days (0700–1900) | Every Other Weekend (or less)
  • Patient Ratio: 1:5
  • EMR & Equipment: EPIC | GE Telemetry (Virtual Monitoring) | High Flow, BiPAP (<24 hours)
  • Location: Memorial Glenwood (Unit 6 North)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized care for adult medical cardiac patients, primarily focusing on Congestive Heart Failure (CHF).
  • Titrate and manage critical IV drips, including Amiodarone, Heparin, Insulin, and Cardizem.
  • Read, interpret, and document telemetry rhythm strips per shift via virtual central monitoring.
  • Collaborate with a working Charge Nurse and delegate duties to Patient Care Techs (1:12–15 ratio) for vitals, phlebotomy, blood glucose, and ADLs.

Candidate Requirements

  • Required Certifications: Active AHA BLS and AHA ACLS.
  • Experience & Skills: Strong Medical Cardiac telemetry background and proven proficiency in titrating cardiac/insulin drips.

Unit & Facility Highlights

  • Scheduling: Self-scheduling and block scheduling are allowed.
  • On-Call: Minimal requirements; on-call is utilized strictly as a last resort for travelers.
  • Holidays: Rotational schedule among team members.
