Job Summary:
Telemetry (TELE) registered nurse position in Martinsburg, West Virginia. This role involves providing patient care on a specialized telemetry unit, primarily for patients with elevated troponin levels, post-surgical recovery, and other cardiac conditions. The assignment requires night shifts with rotating weekends and holidays, offering an opportunity to work in a dynamic acute care environment.
Job Details:
- Location: Martinsburg, West Virginia
- Position: Telemetry Nurse
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week, with rotating weekends and holidays
- Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA) are required
- Education/Experience: No minimum experience required; suitable for first-time travelers or experienced professionals
- Shift Notes: Four 12-hour shifts per week; opportunities for charge and precepting roles
- Unit Details: Telemetry unit with 20 private rooms on the second floor, suited for higher acuity patients; future plans may involve transitioning the second floor to a Stepdown unit
- Patient Care: Elevated troponin monitoring, post-cath care, NSTEMI, oncology, and post-surgical recovery patients; no ventilator management or diabetic ketoacidosis cases currently
- Staffing: Ratios of 1:5 for both day and night shifts; occasional floating between units
- Monitoring: Phillips cardiac monitors connected to EPIC electronic health record system
- Additional Operational Details: In-house 24/7 hospitalist, intensive care support, pharmacy, and RT services; use Kronos for scheduling with minimum of two weeks notice for scheduling requests
