Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 or 18 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1.5 years required, experience in level 1 or 2 preferred. License: Active state RN license or compact license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience with advanced care level drips. - Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting the assignment. - Must be comfortable floating to all step-down/advanced care units. - Available to work every other holiday and weekend. Description: Winter jobs available! Contracts of 13 or 18 weeks are offered. This unit takes advanced care level patients. Experience with advanced care level drips is needed. This is a mixed acuity unit. Travel partners are not permitted. 36 or 48 hours per week are accepted. For the 48-hour contract, overtime is paid after 48 hours. No block scheduling is available. Patient ratios are targeted at 1:4, but may occasionally reach 1:5-6. The unit may participate in a team nursing model. Under this model, RNs, LPNs, and PCTs work together to care for a group of patients. The goal is to improve workload and patient care. Nurses may function in either team nursing or primary nursing based on unit needs. No more than 7 days of requests for time off will be approved. Travelers must float within the specialty cluster. Travelers may be assigned to a medically appropriate unit based on need. Travelers must be comfortable floating based on facility requirements. Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing. An EKG/dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of contracting. The unit cares for adults and geriatric patients. The daily patient census averages around 32. The unit hosts 40 beds, with an expected length of stay of less than 24 hours. Patient populations include chest pain rule-outs, syncope, vertigo, abdominal pain, CHF, COPD, and cellulitis requiring IV antibiotics. This unit has a significant cardiac patient population. Candidates must be willing to float without restrictions. Epic charting experience is required for all inpatient nursing roles. Previous employees of the organization or prior agency personnel not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before applying as travelers.
