Care Career is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Bryan, Texas.
Travel Telemetry RN assignment, 6-week contract, 48 guaranteed hours per week with possible 36-hour guarantee if the candidate cannot work 48 hours, 12-hour day shifts 6:45 AM-6:45 PM, every other weekend, first to float, 35-bed Tele unit on the 2nd floor within a three-pod monitor unit including Tele, Tele-Observation, and Tele-Neuro Stroke, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:4-5 on days and nights, Bryan Campus is the home base with floating to College Station Campus as needed, campuses are approximately 16 minutes apart, patient population includes cardiac and telemetry patients such as CHF, post-CABG patients, Watchman procedures, dysrhythmias, EP cases, and medical telemetry, nurses must independently read and interpret telemetry strips, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, and Dopamine may be used with step-by-step protocols, no independent drip titration, two telemetry/monitor technicians staffed 24/7 across the 66-bed Tele Pod, self-scheduling and block scheduling available subject to manager approval, six weekend shifts required in a six-week period, no call or standby, travelers are first to float, primarily float within the three monitor pods and occasionally to Med-Surg for telemetry patients, may float between Bryan and College Station campuses, navy scrubs with navy undershirts and optional navy scrub jacket, Epic experience required for an Epic conversion, unit orientation includes HR, educator, system access, unit tour, and two shifts with a staff nurse, Level III trauma facility and Joint Commission heart attack and stroke center, Meditech listed as charting system in the job record but unit specifically requires Epic experience for the conversion, hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 24/7 manager and unit support.
Required: Minimum 1 year RN experience may be considered if the candidate is comfortable and confident, 2+ years preferred, active RN license required for submission, BLS AHA, ACLS AHA, NIHSS, must have Epic experience, must independently read and interpret telemetry strips, must pass the Basic Dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 83% before signing the contract, maximum 3 attempts with remediation/study guide potentially available, must be willing to precept, must be willing to work 12-hour days, every other weekend, six weekend shifts per six-week period, first-to-float, and float between Bryan and College Station campuses and other telemetry-capable units as needed, candidates cannot have been directly employed full-time, part-time, or PRN by any CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year, outside-firm PRN employment may be considered, call-outs are strongly discouraged and may lead to termination, must be able to work 48 hours per week unless approved for a 36-hour guarantee, start dates are limited to 10/19-10/28 with conversion starting 10/30, Preferred: Neuro and cardiac experience, 2+ years RN experience, previous travel experience, block scheduling preference may be accommodated.
