Job Summary
Join the dedicated nursing team on 2 North, a 50-bed Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and Intermediate Care Unit located in Westfield, MA. This unit is part of the esteemed Baystate Health system, committed to providing comprehensive patient care across its network of facilities.
As a Telemetry/Med-Surg RN, you will care for a diverse patient population requiring cardiac monitoring, post-surgical care, and general medical interventions. The unit maintains an expected nurse-to-patient ratio of 6:1, fostering a collaborative environment focused on high-quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret EKG strips, and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications safely and accurately, including IV drips.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Massachusetts.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent, acute care experience in Telemetry or Medical-Surgical nursing.
- Ability to meet facility's travel nurse radius requirements (e.g., residing outside a 90-mile radius from the facility).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- 2+ years of experience in Telemetry or Medical-Surgical nursing.
- Previous experience within a Baystate Health facility.
