Experience in reading cardiac rhythms and acting on changes to those rhythms. Familiarity with administering IV cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, etc. Description: Telemetry Registered Nurse needed for a Post Surgical Unit. The Telemetry RN delivers and coordinates care for acutely ill adult and geriatric patients who require cardiac monitoring. Physiological, psychosocial, safety, learning, and self-care needs of patients and their families must be addressed. The RN utilizes their understanding of physiology/pathophysiology, nursing process, technology, and interpersonal communications to accomplish these responsibilities. The position requires a telemetry RN experienced in caring for patients on telemetry. Nursing interventions such as administering IV cardiac medications, heparin, and insulin drips are required. If not needed on the stationed unit, the nurse may float to other telemetry or med-surg units as necessary. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. On-call duties may be needed as required by the facility.
