Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (Float)
Job Summary
Join our dedicated nursing team as a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry care in Kealakekua, Hawaii. This dynamic role involves providing high-quality patient care across adult and pediatric populations within our Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units.
As a Float RN, you will be an essential resource, rotating between two primary Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units. Additionally, you will provide crucial support for Medical-Surgical overflow patients in both the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Emergency Department (ED) as needed, ensuring seamless patient flow and comprehensive care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult and pediatric patients on Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units.
- Float between designated Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units based on staffing needs.
- Support Medical-Surgical patient overflow in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Emergency Department (ED).
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement nursing interventions.
- Administer medications safely and accurately, monitor patient responses, and document care effectively.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Recent experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, specifically EPIC.
