Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment on a 22-bed mixed Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit located in Elmira, New York.

This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population requiring cardiac monitoring and general medical-surgical interventions. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing complex patient cases, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care in a dynamic hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, for patients on a Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, responding promptly and appropriately to changes in patient condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and hospital policies.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, document findings accurately, and update care plans as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide critical care interventions as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in a Medical-Surgical Telemetry setting.

Licensing Requirements
