Description:
This position is within a Tele Float Pool.
The unit has 38 beds.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1 to 5:1.
Monitor technicians are available on the unit.
Charge nurses do not take patient assignments.
There are unit aides, and the ratio of aides varies.
Common types of patients include those with alcohol withdrawal, DKA, heart failure, sepsis, stroke, GI surgery, GU surgery, and joint replacements.
Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen.
This position requires floating to med-surg and telemetry units as part of float pool responsibilities.
Self-scheduling and block scheduling options are available.
Weekend and holiday requirements vary.
There is no call or standby requirement.
The charting system used is Cerner.
This position does not require a BSN.
The position is within an acute care setting.
