Schedule

• Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Hours: 3 × 12-hour shifts per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekends: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Rotating holiday coverage
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling and block scheduling allowed, based on unit needs
• Floating: Med-Surg, Telemetry, Stepdown, Rehab (IRU), and ED Holding; may float to ICU as helping hands

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to Med-Surg, Telemetry, and Stepdown patients.
• Manage post-surgical, orthopedic, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, and end-of-life patients.
• Monitor cardiac patients and interpret cardiac rhythms/telemetry strips on Stepdown.
• Titrate Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin drips in Stepdown.
• Care for patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen in collaboration with Respiratory Therapy.
• Manage patient assignments based on unit acuity and staffing ratios.
• Float between assigned units and support ICU staff as needed.

Requirements

• Experience: Relevant acute-care Med-Surg/Telemetry and Stepdown experience.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required.
• License: Active RN license required for submission.
• EMR: EPIC experience required/preferred based on submission criteria; facility currently uses EPIC.
• Cardiac Skills: Must interpret cardiac rhythms and titrate drips for Stepdown assignments.
• Floating: Must be flexible to float across designated units.
• Orientation: 1 shift with a preceptor for Med-Surg; 2 shifts for Stepdown.
• Other: Must be comfortable caring for patients in designated COVID and non-COVID areas when assigned.
