Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate care for acutely ill adult and geriatric patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring on a hybrid telemetry/med-surg unit
• Read and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in those rhythms
• Administer IV cardiac medications and drips, including Amiodarone, Cardizem, heparin, and insulin drips
• Apply the nursing process to address physiological, psychosocial, safety, learning, and self-care needs of patients and their families
• Utilize knowledge of physiology, pathophysiology, and technology to support patient outcomes
• Float to other telemetry or med-surg units within the facility as operational needs arise

Required Qualifications

• Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) License - must be verifiable via Nursys upload within the last 2 weeks
• ACLS certification required (AHA or ARC only, with valid expiration date)
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC only, with valid expiration date)
• EKG Interpretation proficiency required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred; candidates must be comfortable caring for telemetry patients independently
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (local candidates may be considered at a local rate)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience as a travel nurse in a telemetry or med-surg setting
• Familiarity with post-surgical patient populations, including adult and geriatric patients
• Experience floating between telemetry and med-surg units in a hospital environment
