Schedule / Job TypeContract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (Start time 6:45 AM/PM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a Telemetry unit with a cardiac patient focus, including general overflow; common diagnoses include stable non-titrating Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Heparin drips
- Read and interpret EKG/telemetry strips as a core function of daily patient care
- Maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio and collaborate with Charge RN during interdisciplinary team rounds
- Participate in bedside shift report and utilize self-scheduling system; overtime and extra shifts may be available
- Float as first to float to MedSurg and Telemetry units as needed
- Rotate holiday coverage with core staff; expected to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's) - holiday time off will be considered but is not guaranteed
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Dysrhythmia Exam (Basic) through UNA must be completed and submitted prior to acceptance - candidates receive two attempts; failure on the second attempt may result in disqualification from this and related facilities
- Ability to read and interpret EKG strips
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience with Cerner EMR
- Experience in a telemetry or cardiac-focused nursing environment
- Comfort with self-scheduling platforms and flexible shift management
- Ability to adapt as a flexible team member in a dynamic unit environment
