Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, Full Time

• Cardiac and post-surgical patient population requiring high-acuity monitoring and specialized nursing care
• Manage patients on high-risk medications including cardizem, heparin, nitroglycerin, insulin, ketamine, and lidocaine drips

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
• Current BLS certification from AHA required
• Current ACLS certification from AHA required
• Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient population served
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Experience with cardiac and post-surgical patient care preferred

Responsibilities:

• Obtain and record initial patient assessments, establishing care priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs
• Develop and implement individualized, measurable plans of care within established nursing standards
• Systematically reassess patients to identify progress and trends requiring intervention
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of patient data and evaluation of outcomes
• Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs
• Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning
• Perform various Point of Care testing procedures as required
• Modify care plans based on ongoing evaluation and changing patient conditions
