Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Telemetry unit provides high-quality nursing care for patients with cardiac and telemetry-related issues. This position requires a strong understanding of cardiac care and the ability to work independently in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate leadership by embodying competencies in self-management and teamwork.
• Utilize the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
• Administer medications and treatments following established protocols and monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, and care provided accurately and timely.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS certification via AHA required.
• ACLS certification via AHA required.
• RN License in the state of employment or compact required.
• Experience with EMR systems, specifically Epic, is required.

Work Schedule

Shift: Days, from 7AM to 7PM

Weekends: Every other weekend required

Nurse/Patient Ratio

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 to 6:1, depending on staffing.

Dress Code

Ceil blue scrubs are required.

Additional Information

Newly hired experienced RNs will participate in orientation within the first 30 days of hire and will be precepted by a designated staff member. Completion of annual competency verification requirements is also mandatory.
