Telemetry Registered Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Indiana
• At least 2 years of acute inpatient RN experience
• Telemetry nursing experience with the ability to recognize and respond to changes in cardiac rhythm and patient condition
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or training
• Epic electronic health record experience
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and patient advocacy skills

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and reassessments according to policy and patient condition.
• Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services.
• Monitor telemetry patients, identify changes in cardiac rhythm or condition, and initiate timely clinical interventions and escalation of care.
• Evaluate and document patient responses to treatments and interventions.
• Provide and coordinate patient and family education throughout the hospital stay and at discharge.
• Administer medications and treatments safely while maintaining accurate clinical documentation in Epic.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel and provide clinical guidance as needed.
• Promote teamwork, patient safety, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based nursing practice.
