Telemetry Travel Nurse Job Details

• Shift: Night shift, approximately 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m., including every other weekend

Telemetry Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Indiana
• At least 2 years of acute inpatient Registered Nurse experience
• Previous inpatient telemetry nursing experience, including cardiac monitoring
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health records (EHR)
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary care team

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, and patient- and family-centered nursing care to a designated group of telemetry patients.
• Perform thorough nursing assessments and reassessments in accordance with clinical policies and patient needs.
• Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and clinical status, recognize changes in condition, and respond promptly using sound independent nursing judgment.
• Administer and evaluate clinical interventions while accurately documenting patient responses and outcomes in the Epic EHR.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, care plans, and discharge instructions.
• Delegate appropriately to licensed and non-licensed team members and promote coordinated, respectful teamwork.
• Support quality, patient safety, service improvement, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based nursing practice.
• Serve as a resource, mentor, or preceptor to fellow team members as appropriate.
