Telemetry Nursing in an urban healthcare facility. This position involves providing independent nursing functions and delegated medical tasks in accordance with state Board of Nursing standards. The role requires assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, along with health education and counseling.
Job Details
- Position Description: Performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care. Evaluates health status through the ongoing collection and assessment of health data. Performs health teaching and health counseling. Provides therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being either directly to the patient or indirectly through consultation with, delegation to, supervision of, or teaching of others. Executes delegated medical functions. Refers patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment. Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans. Documents in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines. Uses resources as needed. Promotes mission, vision, and values of the healthcare organization, and abides by service behavior standards. Performs other duties as assigned. May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications based on business need. May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
- Schedule: Rotating shifts of 3-12 hours per day, 36 hours per week, with weekends on a rotating basis.
- Required Qualifications: ASN degree from an accredited school of nursing; current RN license in the practicing state; BLS (AHA) certification; ACLS (AHA) certification; NIHSS certification; minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree of Nursing; previous experience as a Registered Nurse; certification relevant to the unit or service.
- Skills: Nursing care, health data assessment, health teaching, health counseling, therapy and treatment planning, medical function execution, patient referral, documentation, therapy and treatment monitoring, resource utilization, registered nursing experience.
- Additional Information: float to other Tele units, Ortho surgical trauma, and acuity adaptable units (step down units) may be required, with patients such as insulin drips and sepsis cases.
