Nights 3x12 schedule. First-time travelers accepted. Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility. Previous charge experience is preferred. Patient ratio experience of 5 is required. Charting system experience with Cerner is required. Previous community hospital experience preferred. Travel experience is not required. Skills needed include: Accessing and managing ports. BiPAP and CPAP management. Blood product administration. Cardiac telemetry. Cerebrovascular accident (CVA) care. Feeding tube care and management. Heparin protocols. High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management. Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs). Interpretation of dysrhythmias. Isolation precautions and PPE usage. IV insulin protocols. Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration). Management of dysrhythmias. Nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management. Oxygen administration and tank usage. Pacemaker management (temporary and permanent). Patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) management. Peripheral line care and management. PICC line management. Caring for patients with renal failure and seizure disorders. Starting and maintaining IVs. Management of substance withdrawal. Care for surgical drains. Telemetry monitoring on the unit. Titration of insulin drips. Tracheostomy care and management. Use of rapid response and code teams. Wound care and wound vac management. Unit details include: Staffing and scheduling type is block. Patient ratios are 5 for days, nights, and weekends. Weekend coverage required. Daily census averages 3 patients. Unit supports adults and geriatric patients. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams. Candidates must float based on facility census and staffing needs. Completion of required modules is expected within the first week of assignment. Behavior expectations include maintaining professionalism. Attendance issues or shift call-offs may result in contract termination.
