Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience required License: Active state nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - Experience with cardiac monitoring - Ability to work with ratios typically ranging from 1:5 to 1:6 Description: This is a 54-bed cardiac unit focused on telemetry. The main patient population includes heart failure, heart attack, stroke, and cardiac arrhythmias. Patients are monitored remotely and on the unit, often receiving cardiac drips. There is a potential for overflow medical patients as needed. Travelers should expect a fast-paced environment. Call requirements are not applicable, and weekend coverage is needed every other weekend. Holidays require working 2 out of 3 major holidays. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed, but management will try to accommodate requests. Travelers should be comfortable floating based on staffing needs. First-time travelers are welcome. Experience with the Cerner charting system is preferred. Candidates must be willing to adhere to professional conduct standards. Unprofessional behavior may result in contract termination. Additional skills required include managing cardiac drips, interpreting dysrhythmias, and providing telemetry care.
