Telemetry Nurse

Job Description

The Telemetry Nurse provides essential care to patients experiencing critical or life-threatening illnesses. This role involves monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms, assessing patients' hemodynamic statuses, and administering prescribed cardiac medications as well as Telemetry-approved drips. The Telemetry Nurse must be adept at recognizing signs of shock and other life-threatening complications to assist patients effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms for patients under care.
  • Assess and document patients' hemodynamic statuses regularly.
  • Administer prescribed cardiac medications and Telemetry-approved drips.
  • Recognize and respond to signs of shock and other critical conditions.
  • Assist with emergency and elective cardioversion procedures.
  • Support the insertion of temporary pacemakers as necessary.
  • Engage with patients of varying age groups, including adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients according to their intellectual and physical abilities.

Qualifications

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Verification of nursing license and certifications is mandatory.
