- Weekly Pay:$2,250 to $2,450
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide safe, comprehensive, and patient-centered nursing care to telemetry patients
- Perform detailed head-to-toe assessments and monitor patients for changes in condition
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, oxygen saturation, and other clinical indicators
- Identify abnormal cardiac rhythms and promptly communicate significant changes to the healthcare team
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments safely
- Manage peripheral IVs, central lines, drains, catheters, wound sites, and other patient-care devices
- Monitor patients with cardiac, respiratory, and other acute medical conditions
- Monitor patients receiving anticoagulants, cardiac medications, and other high-alert medications
- Recognize changes in patient status and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
- Assist with admissions, transfers, procedures, treatments, and discharge activities
- Provide post-operative care, wound care, and other treatments based on patient needs and provider orders
- Provide pain management and evaluate patient responses to medications and interventions
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, lifestyle modifications, and discharge instructions
- Promote fall prevention, infection prevention, mobility, nutrition, hydration, and overall patient safety
- Respond appropriately to rapid responses, emergencies, and code situations
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, CNAs, case managers, and other healthcare professionals
- Support discharge planning and continuity of care
- Follow facility policies, HIPAA requirements, infection-control procedures, and medication-safety standards
- Participate in quality-improvement and patient-safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry nursing experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- Current ACLS Certification required or preferred based on facility requirements
- Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring and telemetry nursing
- Ability to identify and interpret common cardiac rhythms
- Experience with medication administration, IV therapy, and comprehensive patient assessment
- Experience caring for patients with cardiac and acute medical conditions
- Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to prioritize multiple patient needs effectively during night shifts
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
