Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring telemetry and continuous cardiac monitoring
  • Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation, and neurological status
  • Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and cardiac rhythm
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments
  • Monitor telemetry data and communicate significant rhythm changes or abnormalities to physicians and the healthcare team
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and other multidisciplinary team members
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, procedures, and discharge planning
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Follow infection prevention, patient safety, medication administration, and hospital protocols
  • Respond appropriately to rapid response and emergency situations
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the patient's hospital stay
Qualifications
  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry or acute-care nursing experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Current ACLS Certification required
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms, telemetry monitoring, medication administration, and patient assessment
  • Experience caring for patients with cardiac, medical, and post-surgical conditions
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Strong commitment to patient safety and evidence-based nursing care
