Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: Must have a current nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience working on cardiac, MS/Tele, and stepdown units Ability to work every other weekend Must be able to work 1 of the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, or New Year’s Day Description: Registered Nurse in the Telemetry specialty. This is a fast-paced unit with a high patient turnover. Patient diagnoses can include COPD, CHF, A fib with RVR, mild renal failure, sepsis, chronic vents, chest pain R/O MI, overdose/ETOH withdrawal, Covid, and pleural effusion. Ratio of patients to nurses is 4-5. First-timers are accepted. No floating is required. No on-call requirement. Daily census is around 20 patients. The unit provides interdisciplinary support including physical therapy and respiratory services. Special procedures include chest tube insertion and maintenance, and cardioversion. Travelers must shave for mask fit testing. Experience with managing ports, administering blood products, and telemetry monitoring is required. Additional skills needed include non-invasive airway management and wound care. The unit is accredited for bariatric care. Travelers will be subject to OSHA Respirator Clearance requirements.
