Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or compact state eligibility
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- At least 6 months of acute care hospital experience preferred
- BLS required; ACLS preferred at hire and required within 6 months of hire
- NIH Stroke Certification preferred
- CCRN or PCCN certification preferred
- Ability to complete and pass a dysrhythmia exam
- Comfort working night shifts in a fast-paced telemetry/stepdown environment
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process from assessment through evaluation
- Monitor telemetry patients and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Manage cardiac and medical patients, including chest pain workups, CHF exacerbations, and pre/post cardiac cath care
- Administer medications safely and titrate drips as appropriate, including Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin
- Care for patients with chest tubes, ports, PICC lines, JP drains, and other standard post-operative devices
- Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care and teaching
- Support patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice
- Maintain calm, professional communication while delivering compassionate bedside care
- Document care accurately and follow unit policies, procedures, and standards
