Opportunity:

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday rotation required
• 18-bed telemetry unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 4-5 during days and 5-6 during nights
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (phlebotomy is a plus)
• Illinois license required
• Minimum 2+ years of recent experience required
• Must have drip experience
• Experience with catheterization lab post recovery (femoral/radial) and stroke care highly preferred
• Work with common diagnoses including stroke, CHF, ACS, CAD, post heart catheterization patients, and arrhythmias
• Monitor telemetry strips and work with monitor technician for central telemetry
• Handle common drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, and titrate Heparin
• Work with respiratory equipment including BiPAP and High Flow
• Float to ICU, Medical/Surgical, or ER as needed within scope of practice
• Charge nurse maintains patient assignment
• Work with nurse aides (acuity-based staffing with 2 CNAs)
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Department-specific orientation of two 12-hour shifts required
• MEDITECH experience is a plus
• No call or standby requirements for agency staff
