Job Summary:

Provides coordinated nursing care for individual patients or assigned patient groups according to established nursing standards and the nursing process.   Supervises and directs activities of assigned nursing staff at various levels.   Coordinates patient care with other healthcare disciplines.   Utilizes critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment in all aspects of care.   Collects and assesses relevant patient data to determine health status and care needs.   Analyzes assessment data to identify diagnoses and care issues.   Develops individualized care plans with specified interventions to achieve desired outcomes.   Implements care plans, coordinates delivery of care, and promotes patient health and safety.   Evaluates patient progress toward achieving care outcomes and modifies plans as needed.   Identifies and documents care outcomes for patients.   Collaborates with patients, their families, and healthcare providers to ensure a safe, healing, and compassionate environment.   Provides educational opportunities and health information to patients, families, and team members.   Ensures compliance with required licenses and certifications (e.g., RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale).   Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and experience in an acute care setting.
