Travel Nursing Job Details

• Unit: 25-bed Medical Telemetry unit with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 4–5:1

Telemetry Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of professional Registered Nurse experience, preferably in telemetry, medical-surgical, or acute-care nursing
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Basic dysrhythmia recognition skills
• Strong patient assessment, clinical documentation, communication, and organizational skills
• Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork, patient safety, and high-quality patient care
• Ability to float to comparable units, including orthopedic, neuro, critical care, observation, short-stay, and rehabilitation settings, as needed
• Ability to follow required dress standards, including royal blue scrub tops with royal blue or black pants

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients with renal, urology, oncology, pulmonology, cardiology, and general medical-surgical needs
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitor telemetry data, recognize changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Administer medications and treatments while following established medication and patient safety protocols
• Complete accurate and timely nursing documentation using the Meditech EHR
• Support infection prevention and quality initiatives related to central lines, urinary catheters, C. difficile, and other healthcare-associated infection risks
• Collaborate with charge nurses, clinical educators, technicians, providers, patients, and families to coordinate patient care
• Participate in patient-centered rounding and promote clear communication, courtesy, respect, and individualized care
• Perform routine medical-surgical nursing procedures and use unit equipment such as EKGs, bladder scanners, mobility devices, infusion pumps, and medication-dispensing systems
• Float to like units when needed while maintaining excellent clinical standards and patient service
