Description:
The role is within a cardiovascular telemetry unit.
The unit primarily serves patients requiring cardiac monitoring.
The majority of patients are on cardiac monitors.
Patients receive close observation both on the unit and in a remote telemetry room.
The patient population includes heart failure, heart attacks (STEMI and NSTEMI), strokes requiring cardiac monitoring, cardiac arrhythmias, and chest pain.
Overflow medical patients may also be cared for as needed.
Nurses will be expected to work with cardiac drips without titration.
Nurses are required to have experience with the Cerner charting system.
Patient care will include various skills such as BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and central line care.
Nurses must be comfortable interpreting dysrhythmias and managing IVs, including starting and maintaining IVs.
The position requires occasional weekend shifts and the possibility of holiday work.
Floating to similar units may be necessary based on patient volume and census.
The facility supports interdisciplinary communication with various healthcare professionals.
Travelers are required to be aware of conduct expectations, as any unprofessional behavior may lead to contract termination.
Candidates should be prepared to fulfill up to 8 hours of training modules prior to starting.
