Description:
This position is for a registered nurse specializing in cardiac telemetry.
The unit consists of 54 beds primarily focused on cardiac care.
Patients will be monitored closely with telemetry.
The patient population includes those with heart failure, heart attacks, strokes, and cardiac arrhythmias.
The unit may also take overflow medical patients as needed.
Patient ratios typically range from 1:5-6, but may go up to 1:7 with call-ins.
There are no call requirements for this position.
Nurses are expected to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 holidays.
While block scheduling cannot be guaranteed, management will do their best to accommodate requests.
Charting is done through a specific electronic health record system.
Candidates should be familiar with monitoring equipment and have a solid understanding of cardiac drips and dysrhythmias.
Preferred skills include management of BiPAP/CPAP, central line management, and interpretation of arterial blood gases.
Travelers need to complete orientation modules prior to starting the assignment.
Professional conduct is paramount, and any conduct issues may result in contract termination.
