Description:
The unit has 10 beds with a patient ratio of 5:1.
There are 2 RNs and 1 PCT available for staffing.
Telemetry is the main type of equipment used.
Documentation is managed through a specific system.
Scheduling requires working every other weekend and 12-hour shifts.
Floating to other similar units or the emergency department for telemetry holds may be necessary.
Patient experience is emphasized through bedside shift reports and hourly safety rounding.
General Med/Surg Telemetry procedures are performed on the unit.
Ability to draw labs is a necessary skill.
The unit is newly established to provide 24/7 telemetry monitoring for patients.
