Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience. - Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips. - Experience with post-cardiac procedural care, including Ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 Open Heart, and permanent Pacemaker placements. - Ability to administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone. Description: The unit has 29 beds with a patient ratio of 1:4. Staff includes Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs). Equipment includes Alaris IV Pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, vital machines, Wound Vacs, Temporary Pacemakers, Telemetry monitors, EKG machines, Bladder Scanners, and Dopplers. The documentation system used is Meditech. Full-time hours are required, including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period. Contract nurses may float to areas where they have demonstrated competency. Patient experience is a priority; staff should treat patients with courtesy and respect. Engagement in bedside shift reports and ensuring patients can communicate directly with their nurses is essential. Advanced skills required include IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, Chest Tube maintenance, Temporary Pacemaker management, and Foley insertions.
