Must-Have:
Cardiac telemetry or PCU/ICU experience.
Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips.
Experience with post cardiac procedural care (Ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 Open Heart, permanent Pacemaker placements).
Ability to administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone.
Description:
This role is in a fast-paced environment with a focus on cardiac telemetry.
The unit has 29 beds with a patient ratio of 1:4.
Staffing includes a Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and PCTs.
Types of equipment utilized include Alaris IV Pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, and telemetry monitors.
Documentation is done using Meditech.
Nurses are expected to align with patient experience goals by treating every patient with courtesy and respect.
Responsibilities include being responsive to patient call lights and making personal connections with patients.
Involving patients in bedside shift reports and teaching them how to use communication devices are essential tasks.
Nurses must demonstrate competency in floating to various areas as needed.
The atmosphere is family-like, with many staff members transitioning from contract roles to full-time employment.
