Job Summary:
Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) position in a healthcare facility located in West Allis, Wisconsin. This role involves providing nursing care to a diverse patient population, primarily on medical/surgical units with telemetry monitoring. The position offers an opportunity to work in a Level IV Trauma Center with a primary stroke designation, supporting experienced RNs in a dynamic clinical environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift from 1900 to 0700, with a cycle of 6 weeks. Minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (Neurological Institute Stroke Scale), at least 2 years of RN medical/surgical experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- Skills: Proficient in general medical/surgical nursing skills, including reading and interpreting cardiac rhythm strips, managing chest tubes, tracings, wound vacs, and medication infusions such as Lasix, insulin, and heparin.
- Support within the Department: CNA/Tech, House Supervisor, Rapid Response Team, Phlebotomy (peripheral lab draw), Charge Nurse, Telemetry Monitoring with tele tech support.
- Technology/Equipment: EMR system (EPIC) required, IV pumps (alarms), Pyxis medication dispensing, and floating to other medical/surgical units as assigned by the House Supervisor.
- Orientation: One shift orientation for the facility and unit.
- Scheduling: Every other weekend rotation, no on-call requirements, and coverage for every other major holiday.
- Other notes: Scrubs in any solid color (no logos), free parking.
