Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry
Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide direct patient care to patients in a Telemetry unit. The RN will monitor cardiac rhythms, assess patient conditions, administer medications and treatments, and collaborate with the healthcare team to provide safe and effective patient care.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in a Telemetry setting.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry readings.
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac status, oxygen saturation, and other clinical indicators.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as ordered.
- Initiate and maintain IV access and manage IV medications as required.
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Perform wound care and other nursing procedures as required.
- Assist with patient transfers, mobility, and activities of daily living.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
- Communicate patient status and changes to physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
- Follow infection prevention, safety, and hospital policies.
- Provide patient and family education regarding medications, treatments, and plan of care.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the applicable state.
- Recent Telemetry/Med-Surg Telemetry experience.
- Current BLS certification.
- Strong cardiac monitoring and assessment skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
