Schedule / Job TypeContract | 36 Hours/Week | Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care on a 37-bed medical telemetry unit for patients admitted from the ED, transferred from other units, or directly admitted by a physician
- Monitor and manage patients on cardiac drips including Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Heparin infusions
- Interpret telemetry strips and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes
- Care for patients with primary diagnoses including CHF, Atrial Fibrillation, Pulmonary Embolism, Pneumonia, and cardiac co-morbidities
- Provide post-procedure nursing care for NSTEMI, post-pacemaker, and post-cardiac catheterization patients
- Float to applicable units as needed and document all care using the EPIC EMR system
Required Qualifications- Active Massachusetts RN License
- AHA BLS Certification
- Telemetry Certification
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips is required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a single location and 2 years of travel nursing experience
- Proficiency with cardiac drip management
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience providing nursing care for post-cardiac catheterization and post-pacemaker patients
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR charting system
- Experience caring for patients with EtOH-related diagnoses or dementia with cardiac co-morbidities
