Experience in caring for patients with congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and pre/post cardiac catheterization is required. The role involves monitoring cardiac patients and administering cardiac drips such as dobutamine and amiodarone. Candidates must have skills in central line care, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and management of vasoactive drips. A teamwork approach and adherence to behavioral expectations in all interactions with patients and staff are essential. Floating to other areas within the facility may be required based on operational needs. Candidates should be prepared to work weekend shifts and assist in critical situations. EKG testing must be passed prior to the start of the position. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 5 to 6 patients. Strong communication skills and familiarity with using electronic medical record systems are preferred.
