Description:
The Registered Nurse will work in a Surgical Acute environment focused on telemetry care.
The unit consists of 30 beds and caters to trauma, orthopedic, and surgical patients.
Common diagnoses include transplants, postoperative patients, and trauma.
Nurse-patient ratios are typically 1:4-5.
Responsibilities include maintaining a sterile field during procedures.
Travel nurses must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance.
Nurses must be competent in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
A simulation lab assessment will be conducted, where nurses will need to demonstrate proper skills.
Floating to other units may be required as needed.
Weekend requirements include working 3 shifts in a 4-week period.
The hospital has a cancellation policy allowing for the cancellation of up to 4 shifts during the assignment.
The electronic medical record system used is Cerner.
Nurses will work alongside other healthcare professionals, including charge nurses and nurse aides.
Hours are guaranteed at 36 per week.
Additional training on lifts, restraints, and wound care will be provided.
A natural hair color is required, and facial piercings are not permitted.
Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing.
