Job Title: Cardiac Telemetry RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiac Tele Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: 2 Years License: Compact License or NC License Pending Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: First-time travelers accepted Strong Cardiac Tele, PCU, IMC, Stepdown experience Willingness to work in a fast-paced unit Description: This is a cardiac telemetry RN position. RTO after booking is not allowed and will not be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO could possibly result in a cancellation. Required skills include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Candidates must have 2 years of experience. Candidates will float as needed based on unit needs. Weekend shifts are required, averaging 5-6 shifts over a 6-week period. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5-6. Contract staff may be assigned to a storm team and work during catastrophic events or disasters. Candidates must meet behavioral expectations in all interactions with patients and staff. Adherence to the call-off policy is strongly enforced. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting. All candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility as per job description. Telemetry units monitor cardiac patients. Common patient diagnoses include congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and pre/post cardiac catheterizations. Special procedures involve management of cardiac drips and sheath pulls. Cardiac drips may include Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine, and diltiazem, among others.
