TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Lumberton, North Carolina.
Unit: 3rd Rust Tower - 3 South
CLINICAL INTERVIEWS - Manager Final Review
General Information:
Beds: 17 beds
Minimum Experience required: 1 year in acute care
First-time traveler: Yes
Permanent staff must wait 2 years before returning as a traveler
Travelers cannot live within a 75-mile radius of the facility
Required Certifications:
BLS
ACLS (preferred)
NCI, CPI or MOAB (de-escalation) – must have prior to start
Skills required:
PIV start skills, blood administration, trach care, NGT placement/management, foley catheter placement/management, TPN/tube feedings, central line management, drains/tubes, wound care
Comfortability with drip management – Heparin, IVF, antibiotics, bicarb drips
Patient Types:
General Med/Surg – s/p various surgical procedures, CHF, COPD, Respiratory illnesses, GI disorders and infections, IVDA and ETOH withdrawal on CIWA, uncontrolled DM, CVA/TIA, Cellulitis, UTI, Renal Failure, Ortho post op, etc.
Patient Ratios:
RN: 1:6 (Day & Night)
CNA: 1:8-9 (Day & Night)
Charting System/Equipment:
EPIC
Alaris
Omnicell
Support on the Unit:
CNA: 1:8-9
3 RNs per shift – CRN takes 5
Charge nurse: will take patient assignment
Typically 3 RNs per shift – (2) RNs will have 6 patients while CRN takes 5
Phlebotomy, 24/7
RT, 24/7
Hospitalist, 24/7
Case Management
Wound/Ostomy Team – Recommendations/Treatment plans
Remote monitoring/Tele Tech
Floating:
Within and below scope of practice – could float anywhere throughout facility to care for Medsurg patients
Scheduling:
Variable shift required – Manager will need traveler to be comfortable with working Days/Nights as needed – please decline if traveler is not willing to do this
Traveler will not be required to flip from Days to Nights or vice versa if working consecutive shifts within 1 week
Schedule Cycle: 4 weeks
Weekend rotation: every other or 50% weekends
No Call
RTO requests: Okay to approve up to 7 days, more than 7 days seek manager approval
Traveler must extend to accommodate a full 13-week contract
Holiday Expectations: Email NM for approval
