Job Summary:
Telemetry (TELE) Nurse in a MedSurg/Telemetry unit located in an acute care facility specializing in patients with mental health diagnoses. This position involves working on a 12-hour night shift schedule, providing bedside care to a diverse patient population, including individuals with behavioral health needs and medical conditions. Prior psychiatric experience is preferred but not required, with a focus on MedSurg/Telemetry skills and safety monitoring.

Job Details:

  • Position: Telemetry Nurse in a MedSurg/Telemetry unit, working 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in MedSurg/Telemetry and psychiatric settings, willing to wait for license to submit, experience with Cerner EMR system.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with psychiatric or behavioral health care, proficiency in sterile procedures such as Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, and knowledge of managing confused or cognitively impaired patients.
  • Schedule: Nights, 12 hours shifts, with every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation.
  • Additional Information: All nurses are expected to complete SIMs Lab for specific skills, including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, with pass/fail criteria. The unit emphasizes maintaining sterile techniques and handling behavioral health patients, with a focus on safety and patient monitoring. The facility includes a Psychiatric MD on-site, a video-monitored safety system, and a pharmacological support team available 24/7.
