Job Summary:
Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) position in a facility setting. The role involves caring for patients primarily from the emergency department who are waiting for hospital beds, with a focus on cardiac telemetry. The RN must demonstrate strong telemetry skills, including reading and interpreting strips, titrating cardiac drips, and managing cardiac patient care within a high-acuity environment. The position requires ability to work day shifts and participate in a rotation of weekends and holidays.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7 a.m. 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. 7 a.m.) with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse, current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications, at least 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience, and ability to read and interpret telemetry strips.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ER patient triage and IV starts, ability to assist with ED patient vitals, medication administration, and other clinical duties as needed.
  • Additional Information: Will be required to pass a dysrhythmia exam through UNA and a pass/fail simulation lab on the first day of orientation. The RN may float to med/surg, tele, overflow units, and other emergency departments as needed. Orientation includes 2 shifts on Med/Surg/Tele units at the primary campus.
