Job Description

The Registered Nurse will deliver patient care adhering to established standards, protocols, and policies. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing patient care that respects individual dignity and promotes positive self-regard.
• Implementing patient and family education tailored to learning needs and readiness to learn.
• Collaborating in discharge planning and preparing patients and families for a safe transition.
• Delegating nursing tasks and supervising the interventions of support staff.
• Prioritizing patient care effectively and seeking out appropriate resources and assistance when needed.
• Documenting all relevant patient data, therapeutic interventions, and responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Communicating pertinent information about patient care to other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
• Facilitating learning opportunities for colleagues and participating in professional development.
• Identifying patient safety risks and opportunities to reduce medical errors.
• Administering medications and intravenous therapy in alignment with physician orders and established protocols.
• Assessing and documenting the patient's pain levels and responses to pain management interventions.
• Interpreting patient cardiac rhythms and responding to abnormalities in accordance with treatment protocols.
• Participating actively in multi-disciplinary rounds to coordinate patient care effectively.
• Recognizing and notifying physicians of significant changes in laboratory and diagnostic results.
• Providing ongoing education and assessment for surgical patients and their families.
• Setting up and maintaining various medical devices and equipment for patient care.

Job Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• MOAB class completion is required within 60 days of hire.
• 1 year of medical-surgical experience preferred.
• Previous telemetry experience is required.
• Current Massachusetts RN License.
• ACLS certification upon hire.
