Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year in Telemetry License: Current RN License eligible for licensure in Missouri Certifications: BLS from AHA only, NIHSS required prior to start Must-Have Skills/Experience: 1 year Telemetry experience, inpatient only Experience and competence in drug titration Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Telemetry specialty. The role involves performing direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN will monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Responsibilities include maintaining professional accountability for the provision of patient care and evaluating the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. The RN will coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. Upholding patient rights and confidentiality of patient information is essential. The RN must perform duties consistent with nursing practice guidelines and standards. Standing and walking most of the time is required, along with bending, stooping, and lifting patients with assistance. There may be high-risk exposure to blood and body fluids. Physical demands include the ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. This position requires utilizing the nursing process to provide care for patients post-trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities. The RN should demonstrate a calm demeanor and a collaborative, communicative approach to patient care. Dress code includes wearing black scrubs; unacceptable attire includes torn clothes and open-toed shoes. This role may require working varying schedules, including differing shifts and days of the week according to patient care needs. There is no required call obligation for this position. The unit consists of 32 beds with variable patient ratios. Experience in trauma and inpatient care is preferred.
