Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiac Telemetry.
The shift is three 12-hour nights from 19:00 to 07:30.
Weekend coverage will be required every other weekend, with flexibility based on need.
Floating to various units may be required based on census needs.
The patient population consists of inpatient adults with life-threatening multisystem or cardiac conditions.
Common diagnoses include sepsis, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and coronary artery disease.
The role involves caring for cardiac patients receiving intravenous antiarrhythmic therapy, vasoactive infusions, and anticoagulation.
Key procedures include vasoactive drug administration, antiarrhythmic drug therapy, thrombolytic therapy, defibrillation/cardioversion, thoracentesis, cardiac telemetry monitoring, EKG, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring.
Staffing ratios are typically 1:5 during the day.
The daily census averages around 14 patients.
Support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy.
Travelers are required to be a minimum distance from facility locations to qualify.
Modules will be required and must be completed prior to contract start.
All agency staff are required to float to other units as needed.
Competencies must be documented to ensure safe practice in floating assignments.
This position requires an understanding of dysrhythmias, including interpretation and management.
It is essential for candidates to have recent experience in the cardiac telemetry unit.
